Today, I would like to recognise the outstanding contribution made by one of my constituents, Anne Parfett, to public education in New South Wales and Australia. Anne has been a highly skilled educator and valued member of staff at Epping Heights Public School and the broader community for many years. She has taught for 42 years in public education in Australia (including over 20 years in NSW), and has been the English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) teacher at Epping Heights for 14 years. Today is Anne’s last day at Epping Heights Public School. Anne has shown she is passionate about ensuring the best outcomes for all her students, and has worked tirelessly as an advocate for students who have recently arrived in our country, as well as to help them improve their English skills. She has also mentored, coached and guided new EALD teachers at the school, ensuring sustainable and consistent excellence in EALD support for students. Anne’s dedication and practice of excellence, trust, accountability, integrity and service is worthy of celebration. I would like to wish Anne all the best in her retirement and thank her for her contribution to Epping Heights Public school.
