Clearways proposed for New Line Road and Boundary Road

18 Oct 2019

Motorists could soon be enjoying a smoother journey along New Line Road and Boundary Road with clearways proposed for the busy section of road between Dural and Pennant Hills.

Member for Epping Dominic Perrottet said new clearways are proposed to improve traffic flow and reduce delays for motorists who travel along the key corridor.

“These new clearways are being proposed as part of the NSW Government’s $121 million Clearways Program, which aims to reduce congestion and delays on Sydney’s roads,” Mr Perrottet said.

“This important corridor provides access to Pennant Hills Road and Old Northern Road as well as access for a number of bus services, nearby community facilities, adjoining businesses and the industrial area.

“Implementing clearways along New Line Road and Boundary Road between Old

Northern Road and Pennant Hills Road would ensure all lanes are available to traffic during clearway hours.”

Member for Hornsby Matt Kean said clearways are already in place along Pennant Hills Road and Castle Hill Road to help ensure reliable traffic flow along the busy corridors.

“Introducing clearways on this 7.1 km section of road would also ease congestion and provide more consistent travel times for motorists, to get them where they need to be sooner,” Mr Kean said.

“We are also proposing to introduce some new No Stopping restrictions to operate along sections of Boundary Road and New Line Roads, mainly at intersections, to improve safety.”

Mr Kean said the new clearways would operate in both directions from 6am to 7pm on weekdays and from 9am to 6pm on weekends and public holidays.

“Transport for NSW has investigated business parking along New Line Road and Boundary Road and observed customer parking is available within business premises. There is also parking available in side streets near community facilities,” Mr Kean said.

“All feedback on the proposed clearways will be considered and the community and motorists will be kept informed as the project progresses.”
