Local Football Clubs To Benefit From Asian Cup 2015 Legacy Fund

16 Aug 2016

Member for Hawkesbury Dominic Perrottet MP today encouraged local football clubs to apply for funding through the NSW Asian Cup 2015 Legacy Fund when it opens next month.

“Local football clubs across the state are set to benefit from the establishment of a $4 million fund announced this week to deliver better community facilities driven from the success of the 2015 Asian Cup Tournament,” Mr Perrottet said.

“The Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres announced earlier this week the overwhelming success of the Asian Cup resulted in a surplus to improve facilities at a local level in NSW’s highest participated sport.

“The booming popularity of football is already bringing communities together in Hawkesbury, and now players of all ages across the state will directly benefit from the success of the 2015 Asian Cup.

“The Fund is an initiative of the NSW Government, Football NSW and Northern NSW Football,” Mr Perrottet said.

Guidelines for the NSW Asian Cup 2015 Legacy Fund are now available with applications open from 5 September 2016 24 February 2017.

Grants are available up to up to 50% of the net project costs, with a maximum funding contribution of $150,000 per project.
