Safety Improvement Work on Putty Road at Colo

10 May 2017

Member for Hawkesbury Dominic Perrottet has announced essential safety improvement work will be carried out later this month on Putty Road at Colo.

Mr Perrottet said the NSW Government has allocated $115,000 to provide better advanced warning and greater guidance for motorists driving around bends.

“Work will be carried out between Upper and Lower Colo Road to improve safety for road users, particularly motorcyclists and reduce the occurrence and severity of crashes,” Mr Perrottet said.

“Work will involve installing a rail on the existing safety barrier and two vehicle activated signs.”

Work is scheduled to be carried out from Monday 15 May to Friday 14 July on weekdays between 7am and 5pm, excluding public holidays and weather permitting.

“Work is expected to take around eight shifts to complete and every effort will be made to minimise the impact of noise on nearby residents and businesses,” Mr Perrottet said.

“For the safety of workers and motorists, traffic control and lane closures will be in place during work hours.

“Motorists should plan their journey, drive to the conditions and follow the direction of all signs.”

Roads and Maritime Services thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
