Government grants to improve early childhood learning facilities

20 Sep 2019

More pre-schoolers in Epping will have access to state-of-the-art early childhood learning facilities and specialised educational programs, thanks to the NSW Government’s Quality Learning Environments program.

Member for Epping Dominic Perrottet today announced that through this program, Binnowee Kindergarten in West Pennant Hills will receive $7,829.11 for flooring repairs.

“I am thrilled that the littlest learners in Epping will benefit from this funding now and for years to come,” Mr Perrottet said.

“These grants can be used to make physical improvements to early childhood services, like new gardens, jungle gyms or bathroom renovations, and can also assist the rollout of new learning programs, like music lessons or yoga classes.

“I look forward to seeing how this service in West Pennant Hills utilises this funding.”

Minister for Education and Early Childhood Learning Sarah Mitchell said it is crucial to continue to invest in the State’s youngest learners.

“Research shows the cognitive, social and emotional benefits a quality early childhood education has on our children, so it is important that as a Government we continue to make these important investments,” Ms Mitchell said.

“Our future doctors, lawyers, farmers and teachers are being shaped in our preschools and long day care centres as we speak, so an investment in them really is an investment in our future.”
