With a membership of 160 volunteers, the brigade covers 64 square kilometres within the Oakville, Cattai, Maraylya, Mulgrave, McGraths Hill, Vineyard and Pitt Town areas.

“It was my pleasure to meet and personally thank some of the dedicated volunteers at Oakville Rural Fire Brigade for their ongoing service to the community and risking their lives to protect Hawkesbury.” Mr Perrottet said.

The brigade consists of 3 Category 1 fire tankers, 1 Village Trailer, 1 Bush fire trailer, 1 canteen, 1 personnel carrier which are in operational readiness for emergency call-outs including CABA, bush, grass & structural fires, motor vehicle accidents & storm damage incidents.

Operational for 70 years, the brigade is a foundation in the local community attending church & school fetes, providing educational training to local schools, teaching several junior teams in fire safety & prevention techniques, supporting local community events (ie rodeo, car expo’s) where possible and promote social awareness and participation in all facets of the brigade and the local community.
