Hawkesbury Council receives part of $4 million in government funding

4 Mar 2017

Member for Hawkesbury Dominic Perrottet has announced $199,160 in funding for Hawkesbury Council under the 2016/17 Public Libraries Infrastructure Grant program.

Mr Perrottet said the grant is part of $4 million worth of funding for 31 public library projects across NSW.

“The Library is an important service to the Hawkesbury community and I am pleased the state government is able to assist through this much needed funding boost.” Mr Perrottet said.

Funding is available for library buildings or mobile libraries as well as major ICT projects.

Hawkesbury Council has pledged to spend $199,160 towards ‘Discovery: one click away’.

NSW Minister for the Arts Don Harwin welcomed the funding boost for NSW public libraries.

“The Berejiklian Government is proud to be supporting public libraries and the important work they do in our communities through these grants. This funding allocation brings NSW Government support for public libraries in 2016/17 to almost $32.5 million,” Mr Harwin said.

The Public Library Infrastructure Grants program is administered by the State Library of NSW on behalf of the Library Council of NSW.
