Locals in Hawkesbury Urged to Keep Safe these Holidays and Enjoy...

17 Dec 2016

Dominic Perrottet today urged families in Hawkesbury who are packing up the car and heading out on a road trip these Christmas holidays to slow down, stay alert and be safe on the road.

“While we’ve made considerable ground in driving down the NSW road toll, there has been a recent spike and sadly many people have lost their lives this year,” Mr Perrottet said.

“Every death on our roads is heartbreaking – and one, is one too many.

“Everyone needs to take more care. I don’t want to see local families in Hawkesbury loose a member or suffer because of a road accident.

“I know that holidays are a time to relax, but there’s no room for complacency when you’re out on the road.

“Whether you’re taking the family to the beach, driving out west in the caravan or escaping for some holiday sun, stay vigilant when it comes to road safety these holidays.

“To keep you and the family safe remember that it is important you don’t drive while tired, don’t touch your mobile phone and don’t rush – speeding kills.

“Stay safe on the road these holidays – I don’t want to see any more tragedies during what is supposed to be a happy, relaxing time.”
