Member for Hawkesbury Dominic Perrottet MP was joined by Pru Goward MP, Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, Minister for Mental Health and Assistant Minister for Health yesterday to visit and thank the staff at the Women’s Cottage in Richmond.
The Women’s Cottage has played a vital role in the Hawkesbury community for the past 33 years, providing adept support for women who have encountered violence and abuse.
Women’s Cottage manager, Sharon Payne and members of the board met with Ms Goward and Mr Perrottet to discuss the future of the Women’s Cottage and how the NSW Government will continue to support the organisation.
“The NSW Government is working harder than ever to combat domestic violence and to support victims, and Minister Goward has been at the forefront of that effort,” Mr Perrottet said.
“The work of the Women’s Cottage in our community is indispensable, and I wanted to take the opportunity for the staff and board members to meet with Minister Goward so that she can see the exceptional work they do first hand.”
