What a pleasure it was to attend the Granny Smith Festival in Eastwood recently. Community events like the Granny Smith Festival are part of what makes our state’s culture great. After two years of uncertainty it was great to be back and we got to enjoy the full range of festivities. Tasty food, fun rides, community stalls, activities for the kids and of course the parade were some of the highlights for me. The night finished with fireworks and performance by Dami Im. It was fantastic to see so many of the Epping community come to participate and enjoy the sunshine. Congratulations to The Weekly Times Granny Smith Queen Natalie Gibbons and runner-up Queen Renata Desiak. Thank you to the organisers Ryde Council and the Granny Smith Festival Committee for putting on a splendid show and I look forward to attending next year.
